Aesthetic Dentistry - White Fillings
We choose to offer only white (composite) fillings in our practice because, in our opinion, there are several advantages to white vs. versus amalgam (silver/mercury) fillings. White fillings are held in by adhesive, so often the preparations can be more conservative of tooth structure. Along with the obvious aesthetic benefit, if a white filling needs to be repaired, it can be added to, whereas a silver/mercury filling has to be replaced in its entirety.
