Aesthetic Dentistry - Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are generally a more durable solution to restoring the front teeth. They are a porcelain facing that is cemented to the front of the tooth. Veneers almost always require removal of some tooth structure to attain the most aesthetic results, but because they are made of porcelain, they are much harder than bonding. In-office shading is always done, as the porcelain will be customized by Ken, our lab technician. Two appointments are involved, with temporary veneers worn while your veneers are being made. When patients have veneers, they still have to be aware of protecting their “works of art” by not eating very hard foods (like chewing on bones) or using their teeth as tools (like chewing your nails, opening bags of food, etc.) A wax work-up of your smile is always possible to show what veneers could do for you before making any decision.
